Travis Heights Elementary School is a Two- Way Dual Language elementary school in the Austin Independent School District in South Central Austin, Texas. The Travis Heights community and school have a history of collaboration and innovation, as evidence by the current Two-Way Dual Language Program, Korean Language and Asian Study Program, our Media and Instructional Technology Program and the community’s desire to become an AISD campus-based school.
To continue and expand on that tradition, the Travis Heights community envisions our school as a student-centered, teacher-led, community-supported In-District Charter School where all children succeed, feel safe, engage in challenging and remarkable lessons that are components of a holistic and rigorous curriculum. To realize this vision, through our programs, people, and practices, we will ensure that students:
- Engage in rigorous, relevant, curriculum
- Employ critical and creative thinking
- Demonstrate habits of lifelong learning
- Collaborate with one another in the school community to
demonstrate personal and social responsibility
- Develop a sense of citizenship, cultural appreciation, and
global awareness through second language acquisition
Communication among the school, parents and community is a fundamental aspect in our vision and this website is one step we are taking to keep all informed in the news and progress of Travis Heights Elementary’s Innovation School Project.
